Leviton
Leviton is the sire of
Granadino XI 1978 who is the sire of
Keberes D and great grandsire of
Galaxia DD.

It is difficult to say where to start when speaking about Leviton! He stood at
the Military Stud in Sevilla and when he was alive he was known as the
"#1" military stallion as evidenced by the winning show records of his
offspring.
Salvador Sanchez Barbudo described his thoughts about
Leviton:
I first saw this horse at an early age at a presentation in the 'Cortijo de
Cuartos' and his grace of movement left me speechless. Like his father, he had
lost some excessive height in exchange for magnificent extensions, but, above
all, for an extraordinary cadence. The strides gradually becoming longer and
more separate.
Leviton was known for his beautiful head and neck, huge forward reaching stride,
and overall balance.

Only a few offspring of Leviton were ever exported abroad, however, those that
were produced many champions in the show ring. His stamp can be seen very
clearly in the proud Spanish heads, triangular eyes, and high neck set. If
Leviton had a fault, it was his slightly elevated tail set. To improve this,
breeders with Leviton lines should look for horses with larger hindquarters and
boxed-in tailsets. Leviton has often been crossed with Cardenas horses resulting
in large, powerful moving horses. Many many of Cardena's winning horses
were descendents of Leviton.

Granadino, son of Leviton imported to USA and stood stud at Denham Ranch in
Texas (above).
One should be careful not to in-breed Leviton horses less they double-up on the
fault in the hindquarters. However, when bred correctly, Leviton lines make
great dressage horses because of their elevated stride and overall lengthier
lines and elegant neck.
Leviton was born in 1970 and was sired by Agente by
Maluso. These champions of
the "Military" strain of Andalusians should be memorized.

Military Stud breeding program where his portrait in tiles is presented on the
left pillar at the entry to the Military Stud Farm."
Leviton's dam, Usada 1956, was the daughter of a Roberto Osborne Vazquez
stallion named Estepeno. and she was the granddaughter of Bilbaino II (Baones)
on her dam side.

Leviton had 173 offspring and 93 siblings.
