Khitans Blue Te

Temondeltawildcard x Khitan

photo of Blue

Khitans Blue Te is the mega-personality of our farm. She is the friendliest and most loving horse I've even known. Walk into the pasture and she actually comes running to see you.

With her elegant head, arched neck, and round body type, people often mistake Blue for "one of the Andalusians" even though she is a pinto. Her movement and presence are spectacular but what impresses people most are her striking cobalt blue eyes surrounded by dark "eye-liner".

Khitans Blue Te aka "Blue" is double-registered as an American Warmblood and as a North American Spotted Draft Horse. She is actually a daughter of a purebred Clydesdale mare and sired by a palomino paint stallion.

About Blue

photo of Blue

Blue was born in 2001 and she is a tri-colored honey buckskin with a black and white mane, frosting on her mane, and two masquera-lined silver blue eyes.

Blue is a colored sporthorse type of light draft-cross and has good movement and talent for dressage. She is also a natural jumper and does flying lead changes with ease. Blue is a great trail horse and is very comfortable to ride.

Blue is competing training level and is schooling at 1st level. She also does trails, desensitization clinics, western reining, western pleasure, English pleasure, and tricks

Blue is owned by Donna DeYoung (Spanish Vision Farm) - we acquired her as a yearling.

Blue's Show Record

Blue's Bloodlines

Blue's parents:  Temondeltawildcard (APHA Paint) x Khitan (Clydesdale).

Blue's dam, Khitan, was a black roan Clydesdale with sabino markings. Khitan pulled carriages in downtown Dallas, Texas until she was retired and sold to Jill Hacker who raises paint horses.

Blue's sire, Temondeltawildcard "Jack", was owned by Jill's mother and was bred to Khitan (now deceased). Jack was a palomino tobiano (tobiano, frame overo) American Paint horse and was known for producing many "medicine hat" colored foals.

Blue's Offspring

Blue has one offspring - a beautiful unusual buckskin half-Andalusian mare named Esperanza DD

Blue is being bred to Chulo, a rare black purebred Andalusian, for a 2009 foal.

Blue's Genetics

Blue is a buckskin pinto - or bay with one copy of cremello. Her sire was a palomino (chestnut with cremello) and her dam was black. Therefore, her base color is most likely EeAaCrcrTt. Blue may be a "tovero" - tobiano plus overo. She has 2 blue eyes and sabino markings. Her dam also had rabicano (roaning).  Blue's first foal was born a buckskin with a white blaze (sabino marking) and dark and silver highlights.
