It makes me sick to have to offer up this two-year-old filly I've raised since birth and was holding back as breeding stock ... but I'm buying a farm and need the cash ... excellent opportunity to pick up a quality PRE mare at a great price. Will get new photos soon.

Everyone who meets Galadriel instantly loves her! Galadriel DD was born in 2006 in Denton, Texas. She was Nobleza's 4th foal and the first offspring of Nobleza kept as a breeding stock mare for Spanish Vision Farm. Galadriel is elegant, correct, and easy-going with a beautiful straight profile, large friendly eyes, small ears, and long legs. She is very "pretty" and correct with long floating strides, a rounded canter, and a perfect walk. As a breeding mare, Galadriel is everything I could have hoped for. She complements her dam very well and continues the Spanish heritage of her father Remate.

Galadriel is extremely intelligent and, although a little smaller than her "big sister" Galaxia, Galadriel is the stronger personality.

Galadriel's Name

Galadriel was named after the J.R.R. Tolkein character in Lord of the Rings. Galadriel was a royal Elf and was known as Lady of Lorien, Lady of Light, and Lady of the Woods. Galadriel is described as "blessed with the ability to peer into the minds of others and she judged them so fairly." She was often called the fairest of all Elves. Galadriel was originally named Artanis meaning Noble Woman. Thus, we named our mare Galadriel DD, a daughter of Nobleza, after the Noble Lady of Light.

Galadriel's Genetics

photo of Galadriel

Galadriel is currently a Rose Grey. Her genotype per UC Davis is Ee AA. She can produce grey foals and possibly bay or chestnut. Galadriel has a dark muzzle and dark skin around her face and eyes. She has unique dun factor markings consisting of zebra stripes on her front legs, a dark shoulder mark and a stripe on her back. She was born a bay color and had dark points as a yearling.  As a two year old, she retains her dun factor and is a bay/grey (rose grey) with black mane and tail. Both Galadriel's parents are grey and her dam has a history of producing bay.

Galadriel's Full Siblings

Galadriel has one full sibling, Fionna DD, owned by the dressage rider Lori Cohen of New Jersey. Fionna DD is expected to be trained and campaigned in dressage and Lori is seeking her "L" dressage judge license. Lori has already lined up buyers for Fionna DD's future foals! We wish them the best in their breeding and dressage competition career.
