Corsario IV (Sire of Gitano MOR) and His Bloodlines
 Corsario IV was a striking bay stallion born in Mexico in 1996. His parents,
grandparents, and great grandparents are mostly military/Escalera with one
grandparent going back to Gorron II (Terry) and another, Vinatera IV, is Miura. His lines represent the strength of the old Spanish lines influenced by the
military breeding and slight additions of old Hierro de Bocado and Miura blood.
He has at least 4 crosses back to Maluso and 3 crosses to Bilbaino III.

His accomplishments include:
- 2002 Mexican Champion of Champions (Best Stallion Born in Mexico, AMCCE
in 2002.
- Sire of Champions
- "Leading Andalusian Sire" by the USEF.
- Reserve Champion Junior Stallion, Best Movement and Best Colt Born in
Mexico in 2000
- Junior Stallion Champion, National Champion Stallion, Best Movement and
Functionality in 2001.
Gitano MOR is sired by Corsario IV. Corsario's sire was Macanuo III, an Escalera
stalllion sired by Ocle (Yeguada Militar) and out of Macanua (Escalera).
Corsario's dam was an Escalera mare Bizarra XVII who was sired by Vinatero III
(Eduardo Miura Fernandez) out of an Escaleraa mare Tormenta XII.

Corsario IV was born in 1996, bred by Abelardo Morales Puron, and has 38
offspring registered in the Spanish books. He was the 2002 Mexican
Champion of Champions and sire of Champions. To see photos of some of his

Corsario's Great Grand Parent Pedigrees
Gorron II
Gorron II, the great grandsire of
Corsario IV and the great great grandsire of
Gitano MOR, was bred by the
Viuda de Terry, Isabel Merello and carries the Bocado brand. His sire, Bilbaino
III was most famous for being a herd sire for the
Cardenas farm in Spain (sire
of Vasallo II and Valido, champions). The dam of Gorron II, Gorrona 1940 (a
Robert Osborne mare) is also Bocado and was sired by Favorito (BIS) an Antonio
Canero Baena stallion. The other horses in her pedigree are Hermanos Dominquez.
These are all considered "Bocado" or Cartujano bloodlines.

Zenea
Zenea, the great granddam of
Corsario IV and the great great granddam of
Gitano MOR, is a daughter of
the famous military stallion Maluso out of a military mare named Banasta.

Islero
Islera, a military stallion, was the great grandsire of
Corsario IV and the great
great grandsire of Gitano MOR.
He had 55 offspring and 92 siblings. This bay stallion was born in 1967 and was
a son of the famous Agente by Maluso. His dam, a military mare, goes back to Bocado, Baones, and Military lines.

Escribana VII
Escribana VII, an Escalera mare, was the great granddam of
Corsario IV and the great
great granddam of Gitano MOR.
She was born in 1974 and had 3 offspring including Escribano II by Jecomias. Her
sire Cazo was bred by the Duke of Alburquerque and her dam was a Fernando
Escalera mare.

Gemelo II
Gemelo II, was the great grandsire of
Corsario IV and the great
great grandsire of Gitano MOR.
He was a military stallion and was sired by the Bocado stallion Carinoso III
1956 (by the famous Bilbaino III) and was out of a military daughter of Juglar,
Zepeda.

Vinatera VI
Vinatera VI, was the great granddam of
Corsario IV and the great
great granddam of Gitano MOR.
She is a Miura-bred mare by the Miura stallion Partidor IV. Her bloodlines are
all Miura or Camino Hermanos.

Lebrijano III
Lebrijano III was the great grandsire of
Corsario IV and the great
great grandsire of Gitano MOR.
He is by the famous stallion Agente and out of a military mare Ofrenda, that has
Baones, Miura, and Bocado lines.

Esplendida VI
Esplendida VI was the great granddam of
Corsario IV and the great
great granddam of Gitano MOR.
She was an Escalera mare by a Duke of Albuquerque stallion and out of an
Escalera mare that was a granddaughter of
Maluso.
